Just shot my first NSCA registered event and my scores were all over the place
I shot my first NSCA registered shoot last weekend and my scores were super inconsistent. I'd crush a station then totally whiff the next one. I'm shooting a Beretta A400 with a Modified choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 loads. I've only practiced on my local club's 5-stand before this.

Welcome to registered shoots - that inconsistency is totally normal for your first time! The big difference from 5-stand is the variety - NSCA courses have everything from close rabbits to 50-yard crossers. Your Modified choke is fine for most targets, but you might want to open up to Improved Cylinder for those close-in stations. What distances were giving you the most trouble? Knowing that will help us give more specific advice.
