First NSCA registered shoot coming up - what's the etiquette for squadding up?
I've been shooting local club events for about 2 years but just signed up for my first NSCA registered shoot next month. I'm going solo and not sure how squadding works at bigger events. Should I just show up and get put with random people? I shoot a Browning Citori 725 with Mod/IC chokes and Federal Top Gun 1oz #8 loads.

Good on you for stepping up to registered shoots! For NSCA events, you can usually squad up a few ways. If you know anyone shooting it, coordinate beforehand. Otherwise, most shoots have a sign-up board where solos can join squads with openings - just look for groups needing a 4th or 5th. I've met some great shooting buddies that way. Don't stress about it - everyone remembers their first registered shoot. What course are you shooting?
