ATA Doubles at 27 yards - struggling with the second bird
Been shooting ATA registered shoots for years, but I'm consistently dropping the second target in doubles from the 27-yard line. My first bird is solid, but I feel rushed on the second. Shooting a Browning Citori 725 with an Improved Modified choke, Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 at 1200fps. Anyone else run into this?

That's a classic problem at the back fence. The second bird in ATA doubles is actually slower than the first - a lot of shooters rush it because they think they need to catch up. Try focusing on your footwork and gun mount after the first shot; get settled before you even look for the second target. I switched to a Light Modified choke for the second barrel on my Beretta 686 and it helped my follow-through. What's your pre-shot routine like on doubles?
