NSCA registered shoot - what's the deal with squad rotation?

Just shot my first NSCA registered event last weekend and got a bit confused about how squads rotate through stations. We had 10 stations but only 8 squads, and the rotation seemed to skip some stations. I'm shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel with IC choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 at 1200fps. Do they always skip stations or was this just a weird setup?

Yeah, that's actually pretty common at NSCA shoots! They'll often set up more stations than squads to keep things moving smoothly - usually they'll have 2-3 stations "down" at any given time for maintenance or to give the trappers a break. The field crew will post a rotation sheet showing which stations are active. With your setup, you're golden - that A400 with IC is perfect for most NSCA presentations. Did you notice if they were using Promatic or Pat traps? Sometimes the rotation depends on the equipment they're running.
