First NSCA registered shoot coming up - what should I expect?

I've been shooting sporting clays casually for about 6 months and just signed up for my first NSCA registered shoot next month. Shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel with Modified choke, usually Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 at 1200fps. I'm comfortable with my local club's course but nervous about the formal event. What's different about a registered shoot versus a regular weekend round?

Welcome to registered shoots! Biggest difference is the structure - you'll squad up with 4-5 other shooters, take turns shooting stations in order, and have an official scorekeeper. Bring your NSCA card if you have one, otherwise they'll help you get one there. Your setup sounds perfect for a beginner - that A400 with Mod choke and #8s will handle most NSCA targets just fine. Don't stress about scores, just focus on safety and squad etiquette (wait for your turn, call for your birds clearly). What shoot did you sign up for - is it a local club shoot or one of the bigger state events?
