First NSCA registered shoot coming up - what should I expect?

Just signed up for my first NSCA shoot next month. I've only shot at my local club's fun shoots before. I'm running a Beretta A400 Xcel with an Improved Cylinder choke, usually shooting 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. Nervous about the whole process - how early should I get there, what's the check-in like, and do I need to bring anything special besides my gun and shells?

Welcome to registered shoots! For NSCA events, I'd get there at least an hour before your squad time. Check-in is usually at the clubhouse - they'll verify your NSCA membership and give you a scorecard. Bring ear/eye protection, a shell pouch, and maybe a small stool. Your setup sounds fine for most NSCA targets - that A400 with IC will handle 90% of what they throw at you. One thing - have you checked if they require non-toxic shot? Some clubs do.
