Struggling with consistency on FITASC's quartering targets from Station 3

Been shooting FITASC for a couple seasons now, and I keep dropping targets on Station 3 when they're quartering away. Using a Browning 725 with a Modified choke, Federal 1-1/8oz #8 at 1200fps. I feel like I'm either overleading or picking them up too late. Anyone else run into this?

Those quartering targets can be tricky! I shoot a Beretta 694 with similar loads. What helped me was focusing on the target's belly instead of the whole bird - gives you a better reference point for the lead. Try moving your hold point a bit further out, maybe 5 yards past the trap house. Also, don't forget FITASC rules require you to keep the gun below your armpit until you call for the target - rushing that mount can throw everything off. What's your typical hold point on that station?
