First NSCA registered shoot coming up - what should I expect?

I've been shooting sporting clays casually at my local club for about 6 months and signed up for my first NSCA registered shoot next month. Shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel with a Modified choke, usually using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 shot. Honestly a bit nervous about the whole process - how does it differ from a regular weekend round?

Hey, welcome to registered shoots! The main differences you'll notice are the formal squad rotation (you'll get a squad card with your start station), official scorekeepers, and stricter time limits between stations. Bring your NSCA card if you have one, but they can look you up if not. Your setup sounds perfect for a beginner - that A400 with Mod choke and #8s will handle 90% of NSCA targets. Biggest advice: arrive an hour early to check in, walk the course if possible, and don't stress about scores - everyone remembers their first registered shoot! What club are you shooting at?
