Just shot my first NSCA registered shoot - how do I figure out my classification?
Shot my first NSCA registered shoot last weekend at the state championship. I'm shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel with a 30" barrel, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 shot at 1200fps. Finished with a 78/100. Do I need to shoot more registered targets before I get classified, or does this score count?

Welcome to registered shoots! That 78 is actually pretty solid for a first timer. For NSCA, you need 300 registered targets before you get your initial classification. Your state championship score will count toward that total. Once you hit 300, they'll average your top 3 scores to place you in D through AA class. Keep shooting registered events - that A400 is a great gun for sporting clays. What chokes are you running in it?
