Just shot my first NSCA registered shoot - how do I know what class I'll be in?
I've been shooting sporting clays for about 2 years, mostly at my local club's weekend shoots. Just shot my first NSCA registered event and scored 78/100. I'm shooting a Browning Citori 725 with IC/M chokes and Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 loads. The squad captain said NSCA will classify me, but I'm not sure how that works or when I'll find out.

Good question - the classification system can be confusing at first. NSCA uses your first 200 registered targets to establish your initial class, so you'll need to shoot one more registered event before you get classified. They'll post it on the NSCA website under your member number, usually within a week after your second shoot. For reference, 78/100 would likely put you in C or D class depending on the course difficulty. What club did you shoot at? Some courses are notoriously tough and might affect where you land.
