First NSCA registered shoot coming up - what should I expect?
I've been shooting sporting clays casually for about 6 months and just signed up for my first NSCA registered shoot next month. I shoot a Beretta A300 with a modified choke, usually using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 shot. I'm nervous about the format - do they announce stations? How does scoring work compared to my local club?

Welcome to registered shoots - you'll love it! At NSCA events, they'll have a posted course map showing all 10-15 stations with yardages (usually 20-45 yards). You'll squad up with 4-5 other shooters - someone will keep score on a card, calling 'lost' or 'dead' for each target. Biggest difference from casual shooting: every target counts toward your classification, so take your time. What club are you shooting at? Some have trickier presentations than others.
