Just shot my first NSCA registered shoot - my scores tanked on true pairs

Been shooting sporting clays for about 2 years, mostly at my local club. Shot my first NSCA registered event last weekend and did okay on singles, but my scores fell apart on true pairs. I'm shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel with Mod/IC chokes, Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 at 1200fps. Just couldn't get my rhythm right on those simultaneous presentations.

Welcome to the world of registered shoots - that true pair transition is where a lot of folks struggle at first. What helped me was practicing on stations 3 and 4 at my local club (they have similar presentations) and focusing on picking up the second target in my peripheral vision before I even finish the first shot. With your Mod/IC setup, you might try opening up to IC/Light Mod for true pairs - gives you a little more margin for error. How much lead time are you giving yourself between seeing the pair and calling pull?
