What do you look for when buying a shooting vest?

My old vest has outgrown me and I'm looking for a new one. Also, do you have a favorite brand?

I have been using a Browning vest for 3 years now.  It has the recoil pad in the and I ended up removing because I could not get a good mount.  This vest is also mesh for the sides and the rear which helps in the hot months.  Each of the pockets on each side is divided.  On my left the hits go in the front part and misses go in the back part.  This is how I know what I shot at the end of a round since I shoot a lot of practice and have nobody scoring.  My son uses the same vest but a smaller size.  He likes it for the spring school league when he typically has to wear layers and does not need to adjust it like he needs to with a belt/pouch.  My son switches to a belt/pouch in the hot months.  Some of the fancy tighter-fitting vest seem like they would not be comfortable in the summer.
