What causes flinching in clay shooting?

I've seen some shooters that have a delay in firing or don't fire at all.

Flinching is an uncontrollable reflex response to a failed firing action cause by several factors starting with strong recoil, wrong visual perception and ending with 
unpredictable changes of the shooting action. To understand better the phenomenon of flinching I recommend a book called: Curing Trigger Freeze and Flinching
