What to wear: Comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a hat. You'll rotate between stations but won't walk far.

Step by Step

1

Check In at the Pro Shop

Sign waiver, pay for round, pick up rental gun and shells. Mention you're new to skeet.

2

Safety Briefing

Learn the four rules: muzzle control, trigger discipline, open action when not shooting, know your target.

3

Watch the Sequence

Each station has a specific sequence (high, low, or both). Watch before shooting to see where targets go.

4

Shoot Your Round

Mount gun, call "Pull!", shoot. Rotate through all 8 stations with your squad.

First-Timer Tips

  • Start at Station 7—easiest incoming shots for beginners
  • Pre-mount your gun—unlike trap, you can have the gun up before calling "Pull"
  • Learn the crossing point—targets always cross the center stake
  • Rent first, buy later—try different guns before investing. When ready, a local dealer can help with fitting.
