What is Compak Sporting?

Compak Sporting is a compact sporting clays discipline governed by FITASC (Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse). As the name suggests, it's a compact version of sporting clays that uses just 5 stands arranged in a small area, making it ideal for clubs with limited space while still providing the variety and challenge of full sporting clays.

Each round consists of 25 targets, with 5 targets shot from each of the 5 stands. Compak Sporting offers three format variations: Singles (all singles), 3 Singles 1 Double (3 singles + 1 double per stand), and 1 Single 2 Doubles (1 single + 2 doubles per stand). Each stand offers a menu of different target presentations, and the compact layout allows multiple trap machines to throw targets from various angles, distances, and trajectories.

Compak Sporting is popular in Europe and is recognized as an official FITASC discipline. The format's compact nature makes it accessible to clubs that may not have the space for full sporting clays courses, while still providing excellent practice and competition opportunities for shooters of all skill levels.

History

Compak Sporting was developed as a compact alternative to full sporting clays courses, allowing clubs with limited space to offer sporting clays-style shooting. The discipline uses 5 stands in a compact layout, with multiple trap machines providing variety in target presentations.

The format became popular in Europe, particularly in countries where space is at a premium. FITASC recognized Compak Sporting as an official discipline, standardizing the rules and format. Over time, three format variations emerged: Singles (all singles), 3 Singles 1 Double (mixed format), and 1 Single 2 Doubles (doubles-focused), allowing clubs to offer different training and competition options.

Today, Compak Sporting is shot at clubs throughout Europe and in international FITASC competitions. The compact format makes it accessible to more clubs and shooters, while still providing the variety and challenge that makes sporting clays so popular. The discipline offers three format variations: Singles, 3 Singles 1 Double, and 1 Single 2 Doubles.
