Struggling with consistency on station 8 skeet doubles

Been shooting for about 2 years now, mostly with my Beretta A300. I can handle most stations fine, but station 8 doubles are killing me - I keep missing the outgoing bird. I'm using a modified choke and 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. Anyone else have this issue?

Station 8 doubles are tough for everyone at first. Try switching to an improved cylinder choke for that station - it'll give you a slightly wider pattern that's more forgiving on that fast outgoing bird. Also, focus on keeping your head down on the stock and don't peek after the first shot. What's your lead look like on that second bird? I usually hold about a foot in front.
