Anyone else think the new Federal Top Gun shells pattern tighter than they used to?

Been shooting for about 2 years now, mostly sporting clays with my Beretta A400 Xcel. I've always used Federal Top Gun 1-1/8 oz #8 shot at 1200 fps with an Improved Cylinder choke. Lately, it feels like I'm getting a denser pattern at 30 yards, almost like a Modified choke. I'm breaking targets fine, but it's throwing off my lead on crossing shots.

Yeah, I noticed that too with the latest batch I picked up from Cabela's. Federal might have tweaked their wad design or powder charge. I switched to using a Skeet choke with them for most sporting clays stations and it brought my pattern back to normal. Try patterning them at 40 yards on paper - you'll see exactly what's happening. What's your go-to load when the Top Guns feel off?
