Just bought my first shotgun - what should I do next?
Hey everyone, I'm brand new to shooting and just picked up a used Beretta A300 Outlander 12-gauge. Got it for a good deal at my local shop. I've never owned a shotgun before and honestly feel a bit overwhelmed. What should my first steps be after bringing it home?

Welcome to the sport! First thing - get that gun cleaned and inspected. Used guns can have hidden issues, and you want to make sure everything's safe before you shoot it. I'd recommend taking it to a gunsmith for a basic safety check if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. Once it's cleared, start with some light target loads (like Federal Top Gun 7/8 oz #8 shot) at a local range to get the feel of it. What kind of shooting are you hoping to get into - clays, hunting, or something else?
