Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets at 30 yards

Been shooting for about 2 years, mostly sporting clays. I'm using a Browning 725 with a Modified choke, shooting 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. At my local club, I keep missing station 8 where the target crosses left-to-right at about 30 yards. I've tried sustained lead but keep shooting behind.

That's a classic tough shot! With a Modified choke at 30 yards, your pattern is getting pretty open, so you might be seeing gaps. Try switching to a pull-away method on that station. Start with your muzzle just behind the target, accelerate through, and pull away as you fire - don't think about measuring feet, just focus on maintaining acceleration. Also, check if you're stopping your gun swing when you pull the trigger, that'll guarantee a miss behind. What's your foot position like on that station?
