Just started and my head keeps coming up off the stock

Hey all, new shooter here. I'm using a used Browning Citori 12 gauge with a modified choke, shooting 1 oz #8 loads at 1200 fps. Every time I call for the bird at my local club's station 3 (going away), I find myself lifting my head to see if I hit it. I've tried telling myself 'stay down' but it's like my body just does it anyway. Any tips?

Welcome to the sport! That head lift is probably the most common beginner issue out there - we've all been there. Instead of trying to 'not lift,' focus on keeping your cheek welded to the stock and your eyes locked on the target's leading edge the entire time. Trust your peripheral vision and the gun's alignment; the break will happen in your sight picture. A good drill is to have a buddy load your gun with a mix of live shells and dummy rounds - you won't know which is which, so you'll have to follow through properly to see the result. What's your pre-shot routine look like before you call for the bird?
