Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets at 35 yards

Been shooting about 2 years, mostly sporting clays. I'm decent on closer stuff but keep missing behind on longer crossing shots, especially station 8 at my local club. I'm using a Browning 725 with a Modified choke and 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. I think I'm using sustained lead but maybe I'm stopping the gun?

That's a classic intermediate plateau - station 8 can be tricky! With that setup, you're on the right track with Modified choke and #8s for 35 yards. For sustained lead, try focusing on the target's front edge and keeping your muzzle moving through the shot. A common issue is 'measuring' the lead instead of reacting - next time, consciously think 'see bird, shoot bird' without overthinking the gap. What's your foot position like on that station?
