Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets at 35 yards
I've been shooting for about 2 years and my scores have plateaued. Specifically, on station 3 at my local NSCA course, I keep missing crossing targets at 35 yards. I'm shooting a Browning Citori 725 with an Improved Cylinder choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8 oz #8 shot. I've tried both sustained and pull-away leads but can't seem to find consistency.

That's a classic intermediate hurdle - I had the same issue with my Beretta 686. At 35 yards, you're dealing with a faster target that needs more lead than you think. Try focusing on your footwork first: make sure you're set up with your weight slightly forward and your hips already turned toward the break point. For that distance, I found a swing-through method worked better - start behind the target, accelerate through it, and break the shot when you feel the gun pass it. Don't measure the lead, just react to the speed. What's your pre-shot routine look like on that station?
