Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets at 35 yards
Been shooting about 2 years, mostly sporting clays. I'm hitting maybe 6 out of 10 on true crossing targets at 35 yards with my Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon. I'm using an IC choke and 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. I think I'm using sustained lead, but my breaks are either behind or I'm missing completely. Tried focusing on the target more, but still inconsistent.

That's a classic intermediate plateau - 35-yard crossers are tough! First, check if you're actually using sustained lead or if you're subconsciously stopping the gun. Try this: mount the gun where you'll break the target, keep it moving smoothly, and fire without changing anything. For that distance with #8s, you probably need 4-5 feet of lead. Also, consider switching to a Mod choke for those longer shots - IC might be spreading your pattern too much. What's your foot position like on those stations?
