Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets at 35 yards

I've been shooting for about 2 years and my scores have plateaued. On station 3 at my local NSCA course, I consistently miss behind crossing targets at 35 yards. I'm using a Browning Citori with a Modified choke, shooting 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. I've tried both sustained lead and swing-through methods but can't seem to find the right timing.

That's a classic intermediate hurdle - 35-yard crossers separate the solid shooters from the great ones. With that Modified choke and #8s, your pattern should be fine, so it's likely a timing/visual issue. Try this: focus on seeing more target and less barrel. For sustained lead, pick a spot ahead of the bird and maintain it through the shot - don't measure, just react to the visual gap. For swing-through, accelerate through the bird and shoot when you feel the pass, not when you think you're ahead. What's your pre-shot routine look like on those stations?
