Struggling with consistent lead on crossing targets from Station 3

Been shooting for about 2 years, mostly sporting clays. I'm having a real issue with Station 3 at my local club - it's a true crossing pair, left to right, about 35 yards out. I keep hitting behind the second bird. I'm shooting a Browning Citori 725 with an Improved Cylinder choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 loads. I've tried sustained lead but just can't seem to get it dialed in.

Station 3 crossers can be tricky! I had the same issue until an NSCA instructor pointed out I was measuring the lead instead of reacting to the target's speed. Try switching to a pull-away method - start with your gun slightly behind the bird, accelerate through it, and pull the trigger as you pass its beak. With that setup and distance, you probably need about 3-4 feet of lead. What's your foot position like on that station? Sometimes just opening up your stance toward where the bird will be helps with the swing.
