Struggling with consistent trigger timing on long crossers at 40 yards
Been shooting for about 8 years, mostly sporting clays. Lately, I'm missing long crossers (like station 8 at my club) by shooting behind. I'm using a Browning Citori with a Modified choke, shooting 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. I've tried focusing on the target and pulling the trigger when it feels right, but my timing is all over the place.

That's a classic tough shot. For those 40-yard crossers, I've found it helps to think less about 'when' to pull and more about maintaining your swing. Try focusing on keeping the gun moving smoothly through the target—don't stop to measure. If you're using a pull-away lead, commit to it and let the trigger break almost as a surprise. What's your pre-shot routine look like on those stations? Sometimes a consistent setup can help your timing fall into place naturally.
