Struggling with consistent trigger timing on long crossers at FITASC Compak

Been shooting FITASC Compak for a couple years now, but I keep dropping targets on the long left-to-right crossers at Station 3. I'm shooting a Browning 725 with a 30" barrel, using a Modified choke and 1-1/8 oz of #8 shot at 1200 fps. I feel like I'm seeing the bird well and getting on it, but my break is either too early or I end up stopping the gun. Tried focusing on the front bead more, but it's not clicking.

That's a classic timing issue on those long crossers - they really test your patience. Instead of focusing on the bead, try this: pick up the bird early in its flight, get your gun moving smoothly with it, and consciously think 'smooth, smooth, smooth' as you track. The break should almost surprise you. I had the same problem until an NSCA instructor told me to visualize pushing the muzzle through the target for another foot after the shot. What's your pre-shot routine look like on those stations? Sometimes a consistent setup can help calm the urge to rush the shot.
