Just got a Beretta A300 Outlander for trap - what choke should I start with?

I'm brand new to trap shooting and just picked up a Beretta A300 Outlander. I've been using the factory modified choke it came with, but I'm only breaking about 12-15 out of 25 at 16 yards. Should I stick with this or try something else? I'm shooting Federal Top Gun 1-1/8 oz #8 loads.

Stick with that modified choke for now - it's actually a great starting point for trap. Your break percentage is pretty normal for a beginner, and switching chokes won't fix fundamentals. Focus on your mount, follow-through, and keeping your head down on the stock. Once you're consistently breaking 20+, then you might experiment with an improved modified or full choke. What station are you struggling with most?
