Trying to decide between Briley extended chokes and my Beretta factory chokes for sporting clays

I've been shooting a Beretta A400 Xcel for about two years now, mostly at my local club's sporting clays course. I've been using the factory flush chokes (IC, M, IM) that came with it with 1 1/8 oz of #8 shot at around 1200 fps. I'm seeing some guys with extended chokes, especially Brileys, and wondering if it's worth the upgrade for breaking those longer crossers and quartering targets around stations 5-7, which are giving me trouble.

I ran factory chokes in my Browning Citori for years before switching to extended Brileys. The main benefit for me wasn't necessarily a tighter pattern (though the constrictions are very consistent), but the easier swapping and cleaning. For those 35-40 yard crossers you mentioned, a good Modified or Improved Modified tube with your current load should do the job with either. The Briley might give you a slight edge in pattern density, but make sure your mount and lead are solid first. Have you tried just sticking with your factory IM for those stations to see if it's the choke or something in your swing?
