Pilla lens colors for late afternoon sporting clays
Been running my Pilla Panther 6 with the 58HC (yellow) and 62HC (orange) lenses for most of my shooting, but I'm struggling with target acquisition on the last few stations when the sun gets low. Shooting a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I with factory chokes. Anyone have a go-to Pilla lens combo for that tricky, flat light before sunset?

That's a classic challenge. For that low-angle, golden-hour light, I've had great success swapping to a 65HC (vermilion) or even a 67HC (purple) in my Pilla set. The vermilion really seems to pop the orange against the darkening background of trees. The purple can be magic if there's any haze or moisture in the air, but it's a bit darker, so make sure you've got enough light to see the target clearly. What's the typical background like on your home course for those late stations—more open sky or wooded?
