Anyone else find the Pilla Outlaw X7 lenses too dark for late afternoon sporting clays?
Been running the Outlaw X7 in my Pilla frames for a few months now. Love them for bright midday sun, but when the light starts dropping around 4pm at my local club, I feel like I'm losing targets, especially on long crossers from the high house. Shooting a Beretta 694 with factory chokes. Wondering if I should switch to the X6 for those later sessions or if there's another trick.

Yeah, the X7 is a dark lens - great for high noon, but it can definitely cost you in fading light. For those late afternoon rounds, I'd absolutely recommend dropping down to the X6, or even the X5 if it's getting really gloomy. I keep both in my bag and swap based on the station and light. The X6 is my go-to for that 'golden hour' shooting; the contrast is still fantastic without dimming the target. What color are the backgrounds like at your club in the evening?
