Picking a choke for sporting clays with my Beretta A400 Xcel
I've been shooting sporting clays for about two years with my Beretta A400 Xcel and usually just use the factory Modified choke it came with. I'm starting to shoot more tournaments and want to optimize my setup. I'm looking at Briley or Muller chokes but not sure what constriction to get for those mid-range 30-40 yard crossing targets.

Good move thinking about chokes for tournament shooting. For your A400 Xcel on those 30-40 yard crossing birds, I'd recommend trying a Light Modified or Improved Modified from Briley. I use a Briley IM in my Browning 725 for exactly those presentations and it gives me a nice, consistent pattern without being too tight. The Muller U2 is another great option that's popular with sporting clays shooters. What loads are you typically shooting - 1 oz or 1 1/8 oz?
