Trying to dial in my Beretta 686 for sporting clays - choke selection for mixed stations?
Been shooting a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I with 28" barrels for sporting clays. I'm running Briley extended chokes - currently using IC for close stuff and Mod for longer shots. But on stations that mix presentations (like a close rabbit followed by a 40-yard crosser), I'm struggling with consistency. Anyone have a go-to choke for those mixed stations, or do you just pick one and adjust?

I run a similar setup with my Browning 725 - I've settled on a Light Modified for those mixed stations. It's tight enough to handle the longer targets but still has enough spread for the close ones if you're on point. For that rabbit/crosser combo specifically, I'd focus more on lead than choke - that LM should pattern fine at both distances with 7.5 shot. What loads are you running? Sometimes a faster shell (like 1300 fps) can help with those quick transitions.
