Looking for a 1-1/8 oz lead load for sporting clays that patterns well in my tight-choked Beretta 686

Been shooting my Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon with factory Full and IM chokes for sporting clays. I'm trying to develop a reload that gives me a dense, even pattern at 40 yards for those long crossers. I've tried WAA12 wads with 1-1/8 oz of #8 lead and 18.0 grains of Green Dot, but the pattern seems to open up a bit too much past 35 yards. Hulls are once-fired STS.

I run a similar setup with my 686. For that distance and choke, you might want to drop down to #7.5 lead - they hold energy better at 40 yards. Also, try bumping up to 19.0 grains of Green Dot (check your manual first!) and make sure you're using a good crimp. The extra velocity helps keep the pattern tight. What primer are you using with that load?
