Looking for a 1-1/8 oz 12ga load that patterns well in my Browning Citori with Briley chokes
I've been working up some 1-1/8 oz loads for sporting clays with my Browning Citori 725. Using Fiocchi hulls, WAA12 wads, and Alliant Extra-Lite powder. At 40 yards, my patterns with a Modified choke are decent but not as tight as I'd like. Anyone have a go-to recipe that gives consistent, dense patterns without being too hot?

I run a very similar setup with my Citori and Briley chokes. For 1-1/8 oz, I've had great luck with 18.5 grains of Alliant Extra-Lite, a WAA12SL wad (the "sl" version for shorter shot columns), and a Fiocchi hull with a CCI 209 primer. That gives me about 1200 fps and patterns beautifully through my Light Modified choke at 40 yards. The key for me was switching to the SL wad - seemed to seal better and gave more consistent patterns. What shot size are you using? Sometimes dropping from 8s to 7.5s can help fill out those patterns at longer distances.
