Looking for a good 1-1/8 oz target load for my Beretta A400 Xcel
Been shooting for about 2 years, mostly sporting clays. I've been using Winchester AA 1 oz loads through my modified choke and they're fine, but I want to try a slightly heavier payload for a little more reach on the longer stations. My A400 has a 30" barrel and I shoot mostly at 30-40 yard targets. Anyone have a favorite 1-1/8 oz factory load they'd recommend, or should I just stick with what I'm using?

I've been shooting a Beretta A400 for years and I think you're on the right track. For those 40-yard crossing shots, I've had great luck with Federal Top Gun 1-1/8 oz #8 shot. They're a bit hotter than the AAs and seem to hold patterns better at distance through a modified choke. Another solid option is Remington STS in the same specs - they're a little pricier but super consistent. What's your typical score on those longer stations? Might help narrow down if you really need the extra shot or just need to work on your lead.
