Looking for a soft-shooting 1 oz 12ga load for sporting clays - any favorite recipes?
Been shooting a lot of 100+ target days with my Beretta 686 and my shoulder's feeling it. I'm currently running 1 1/8 oz of 7.5s at 1200 fps, but it's getting a bit much. I've got a MEC 600 Jr and plenty of once-fired STS hulls. Anyone have a go-to 1 oz load that still breaks targets consistently at 35-40 yards?

I've been running a great 1 oz load for years that's easy on the shoulder and still smokes targets. I use a once-fired STS hull, Winchester 209 primer, 18.0 grains of Alliant Extra-Lite, and a Claybuster CB1118-12 wad with 1 oz of #8 shot. It clocks around 1150 fps and patterns beautifully through my Modified choke. Have you tried any of the faster-burning powders like Extra-Lite or Red Dot for lighter loads? They seem to give a cleaner burn at lower pressures.
