Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting - what's a good all-around choke setup for sporting clays?
Just picked up a used A400 Xcel Sporting with 30" barrels. I've been shooting it with the factory flush chokes (IC and M) for a few months, mostly at my local club's sporting clays course. I'm hitting most of the close stuff fine but struggling with longer crossers and going-away targets beyond 35 yards. Wondering if I should invest in some aftermarket extended chokes or just stick with what I have.

Congrats on the A400 - great gun! For sporting clays, I'd definitely recommend getting at least one extended choke. The factory flush chokes work, but extended ones give you better pattern control and are easier to change. I run a Briley Light Modified for most stations (1-7) and switch to a Modified or Improved Modified for the longer stuff. What loads are you shooting? If you're using 1-1/8 oz of 7.5s at 1200 fps, that LM choke should handle 90% of what you see.
