Just got my first shotgun - a used Browning Citori 12ga. What should I check before taking it out?

Picked up a used Browning Citori 12 gauge from a local shop. It's my first shotgun and I'm excited to try trap shooting. The action seems tight and the wood looks good, but I'm not sure what else I should be looking at before heading to the range.

Great choice for a first gun - Citoris are tanks. First thing I'd do is field strip it and check the barrel bores for any pitting or obstructions. Run a patch through and make sure it's clean. Check the choke tubes if it has them - make sure they're not seized and you have the right wrench. A quick function check on the safety and triggers is smart too. What chokes came with it, and are you planning on starting with trap or skeet?
