Beretta 694 vs. Browning 725 for sporting clays - anyone else agonizing over this choice?
I've been shooting a Beretta 686 for years but want to upgrade to something more competition-focused. I shoot mostly sporting clays, some FITASC. Tried both the 694 and 725 at the range - the 694 feels more lively and points naturally for me, but the 725's trigger is just incredible. Can't decide if I should go with what feels better in my hands or what has the better mechanical trigger.

I went through the same decision last year and ended up with the 694. The way it swings just clicked for me on crossing targets, especially those long crossers on stations 3 and 4. That said, the Browning trigger is objectively better - cleaner break, less creep. Have you considered having a gunsmith work on the 694's trigger? A good trigger job might give you 90% of the Browning feel while keeping the handling you prefer. What's your current LOP and drop on the 686?
