My GSP pup is pointing but breaking at the flush - any tips?
Got a 14-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer that's been steady to wing and shot in training, but when we're actually hunting pheasants over my Beretta A400 Xtreme, he's breaking when the bird flushes. I've been using a 20-yard check cord and an e-collar on low stim, but he still gets too amped up. Shooting Federal Prairie Storm #5s at about 1300 fps.

Been there with my first Vizsla - that transition from training birds to wild birds is tough. What worked for me was using a remote launcher with clipped-wing pigeons and having a buddy flush while I held the check cord tight. The moment he even thought about moving, I'd give a quick 'whoa' command and a light stim on the Dogtra 280C. Took about 3-4 sessions of that before it clicked. Are you using planted birds or wild flushes mostly?
