My GSP is creeping on birds - tried everything but e-collar
My 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer has started creeping forward when he locks up on quail. I've tried check cords, whoa training, and even switching to a 20ga Beretta A400 for less noise. He's steady to flush but that initial creep is killing me. Anyone else dealt with this?

Been there with my own GSP. That creep usually means he's anticipating the flush. Try this: when he locks up, walk in front of him and make him hold while you kick around the cover. If he moves, put him back exactly where he was. Takes patience but it works. Also, are you shooting over him every time he points? Sometimes backing off the pressure helps. What's his breeding background?
