My GSP is creeping on birds after the point - tried everything but e-collar

My 3-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer has started creeping forward after establishing a solid point on pheasants. We're hunting with a Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus, 28" barrel with an IC choke, using Federal Premium 3" #5s. I've tried check-cording, verbal corrections, and even backing up to reset, but he still takes those 2-3 steps forward after about 10 seconds. Anyone else dealt with this?

That creeping is frustrating - my old English Pointer did the same thing. What worked for me was introducing a low-level e-collar nick (Dogtra 280C on setting 4) the moment I saw that first foot move, paired with a firm 'whoa' command. Keep your check cord on so you can reinforce by stopping him physically if needed. After a few sessions where he holds steady through the stimulation, he'll associate staying put with comfort. Are you working with planted birds or wild flushes? Sometimes wild birds teach them better manners than training scenarios.
