Looking for a good all-around upland load for my Beretta A400 Xcel
I've been hunting pheasant and grouse for a couple seasons now with my Beretta A400 Xcel (28" barrel, IC choke). I've been using Winchester Super-X 7.5 shot, but I'm wondering if there's a better option. I'm mostly shooting at birds flushing at 20-35 yards. Anyone have a favorite load they swear by for this kind of hunting?

The A400 Xcel is a great gun for upland. For that range, you're on the right track with an IC choke. I've had really good luck with Federal Premium Prairie Storm in 7.5 shot. It's a bit faster than the Super-X and seems to pattern a little tighter out of my Beretta. Some guys I hunt with swear by Fiocchi Golden Pheasant loads too. What's your typical shot distance on those flushes?
