Hevi-Shot vs. Boss for late-season geese?
Been hunting geese for 15 years, mostly with Federal Premium 3" BBs. This late in the season, the big Canadas are super wary and hanging out at 50+ yards. My Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus with a Patternmaster Code Black Goose choke patterns the Federal okay, but I'm wondering if switching to Hevi-Shot Dead Coyote T or Boss Shotshells' 3.5" #2s would give me that extra edge on cripples. Anyone made that switch and seen better results?

I made a similar switch a few seasons back. The Hevi-Shot Dead Coyote T is fantastic for penetration on big, late-season birds at those longer ranges—you'll notice fewer cripples diving into the decoys. That said, with your A400 and that choke, you might find the Boss shells pattern a bit tighter due to their unique shot design; they're pricier but devastating. Have you considered just stepping up to a tighter choke tube, like a Carlson's Long Range XR, before changing your whole load? Might save some cash if your current Federal is patterning consistently.
