Struggling with true pairs on station 8 at my local course - any tips?

Been shooting sporting clays for about 2 years now, mostly decent scores but I always lose birds on the true pair at station 8. It's a crossing rabbit followed by a high overhead chandelle. I'm using a Beretta 686 with IC and Mod chokes, shooting 1-1/8oz #8 at 1200fps. I've tried leading the rabbit more but then I'm late on the chandelle.

That's a tough pair - I've seen lots of shooters struggle with that exact sequence. Try switching to a more open choke for the rabbit (maybe Skeet or Cylinder) and keep Mod for the chandelle. On the rabbit, focus on keeping your head down and swing through the target rather than trying to calculate lead. For the chandelle, start your gun mount as soon as you break the first bird - don't wait to see the result. What's the distance on that chandelle at your course?
