Just started sporting clays and can't hit those dang rabbit targets
I'm brand new to sporting clays and keep missing rabbit targets at my local course. I'm using a Beretta A300 Outlander with a modified choke and Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 shot. I've tried leading them like regular birds but they just roll right under my pattern. Station 3 at my club has these low rabbits that come out of the brush and I'm 0 for 8 on them.

Rabbits are tricky for everyone at first! The key is you need to shoot UNDER them, not lead like a crossing bird. Think of it like you're trying to skip a rock on water - aim at the ground about a foot in front of the target and let it roll into your pattern. With your modified choke, you might want to open up to improved cylinder for rabbits since they're usually closer (15-25 yards). What's your foot position like on those low rabbits - are you squared up or bladed off?
