Struggling with consistency on long crossers at my local sporting clays course

I'm hitting about 50% on the long crossers at station 8 on our course - they're going left-to-right at about 40 yards. Using my Browning Citori 725 with an Improved Modified choke and Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 loads at 1200fps. I feel like I'm swinging through properly but keep missing behind. Anyone else deal with this?

Those long crossers can be tricky - I've been there. With a 40-yard crossing target, you might need more lead than you think. Try switching to a Full choke for that station and see if your pattern holds better at that distance. Also, check your foot position - I find opening up my stance a bit more toward the target helps maintain swing speed. What's your hold point on that station?
