Just started sporting clays and rabbits are killing me - any tips?
Hey all, new shooter here. I'm really struggling with rabbit targets at my local course. They just seem to roll so unpredictably and I'm missing way behind. I'm shooting a Beretta A300 with a modified choke, using Federal Top Gun 7.5 shot. At station 3, the rabbit comes out of the brush about 25 yards away and I just can't get the lead right.

Welcome to the sport! Rabbits are tricky for everyone at first. The key is to keep your muzzle low and follow the ground line - don't lift your head. For that 25-yard rabbit, try swinging through it and giving it about 2-3 feet of lead, keeping your focus on the front edge of the target. Modified choke is fine, but you might want to try improved cylinder for closer rabbits. What's your foot position like when you're shooting those? Are you squared up or more bladed?
